Unraveling Time and Relative Dimension in Space

I am going to out myself right now as not a Doctor Who fan.

Before the angry mobs show up to revoke my geek card, let me explain.

Because I’m not currently a Doctor Who fan doesn’t mean I don’t want to be a Doctor Who fan.  I have not had time to sit down and watch the show.  I do have many friends who are fans.  So you can call me a fan by proxy.

As a fan by proxy, I end up making a lot of Doctor Who related patterns for friends.  Yes, you heard me right.  Doctor Who patterns.  I’m sure it started by a knitter looking at The Fourth Doctor’s scarf thinking, “Hey.  I can make that.”  Before you knew it, a dozen patterns of the scarf, based on careful, repeated observations of certain episodes, sprang into existence.

But why limit yourself to a simple scarf?  Why not recreate some of the most iconic props associated with the Doctor in fiber form? There are many awesome patterns out there.  I’ve made several of them.  And this week, I’ve chosen to focus on the TARDIS.

When I came across the TARDIS pattern, I immediately had two friends in mind I knew would love them.  They are simple to make, but impressive when finished.  I made them with slightly different techniques.  I can tell you one thing.  These are definitely bigger on the inside, given the amount of stuffing I had to put in them.

And now, the Apiary Quilt update:
