Fifty Shades Of Puffs

I’ve been working on my Apiary Puff Quilt now for three months.  I’ve made some good progress, but I have much more to go.  I have completed 50 puffs out of the estimated 200 needed.

I’ve got new concerns about it.  It turns out that I have a lot of dark-shaded yarns.  One of the things that I learned during my brief foray into quilting is that one of keys to a pretty design is to have a contrast of dark and light.  I have more than enough of the dark, but not so much of light.  I think I can find a multi-colored yarn that will help pull everything together.

The other issue is that in theory these are all worsted weight yarns.  These are all made on the same sized hook.  I am seeing  very large size variation depending on the type of yarn I’m using.  When I start sewing them together I can make adjustments, but there may be some puffs I will not use because they are too small or too large.

This week’s Puff update –

Weekly Apiary Puffs Completed: 3

Total Apiary Puffs Completed: 50
