This is also known as this is the week where everything sucks.

By the last weekend, I had been chipping away at my word deficit consistently.  I was back within 500 words of the NaNoWriMo average, and could make it up easily by the end of the week.  There was a light at the end of the tunnel

Then the train hit.  I only managed roughly 100 words and hated every moment of it. It wasn’t that I hated writing, or I hated the story.  Events outside of my control came tumbling down on me that night, forming a weight I couldn’t write my way out from under.  I realizedI was going to have to do a lot more research to write a scene, and my normal resources I turned to for help were coming up empty.   I was tired and depressed and running on empty.  On the advice of a friend,  I took the night off.

That did the trick.  I scribbled down a few scenes ideas at work and and worked them into the outline.  I’ve jumped over the spot that I need to research for the moment, and have bought a book to read up on.   I’m not ready to write that scene yet, but I’ve got a better handle on it now.

I’m back to forging my way ahead.  I still have about 1500 words to catch up, but I think I can do it.  If not, I’m going to come very close.  So it’s time to hunker down and get my words done.
