Happy New Year!

I’m working on planning out 2024. Right now I have a few sales scheduled as well as a con I will be a guest at and a con (at this point) I will just be attending. I don’t have any plans for a Masquerade costume this year, because I need to focus on one thing – writing.

Right now, I have two novels in a semi-complete state.  I’m drafting Chaos Kin, the next of the Jordan Abbey series, and I have a complete draft of Lucy Harker, Vampire Hunter that I need to review. Plus I have a few other ideas bouncing in the back of my head that I need to get on paper.

And while we’re on the subject of books, here’s a list of what I’ve read this year in no particular order:

  • Chaos Terminal by Mur Lafferty
  • Starter Villain by John Scalzi
  • Space Opera by Catherynne M. Valente
  • Daughter of Doctor Moreau by Silvia Moreno-Garcia
  • Devolution by Max Brooks (reread)
  • I, Strahd: The Memoirs of a Vampire by P. N. Elrod (reread)
  • I, Strahd: The War Against Azalin by P. N. Elrod (reread)
  • Rolling in the Deep by Mira Grant (reread)
  • Into the Drowning Deep by Mira Grant (reread)
  • Savage Crowns by Matt Wallace
  • Dracula by Bram Stoker (reread)
  • A Night In The Lonesome October by Roger Zelazny (reread)

The reason that I read so few books compared to my goal of 45 books is I got sucked into YouTube. I’m planning on splitting the day – YouTube in the morning and audiobooks in the afternoon. I’m going to aim for 40 books this year and try to make a dent in my collection of books to read.

So what are your plans for 2024?

  1. Happy New Year Sheryl

I spent 2023 hunkered down in solitude and read 400 books for my Goodreads challenge and many many of them were rereads from my personal library which justified my huge hoarded collection. Hoping 2024 is a better year, optimism is raising its head, my reading challenge will be much lower this year as a start..maybe I will get other things done in 2024. Hope you had a great Christmas. Were your ears burning, I was talking about cosplay and you and your wonderful costume creations were mentioned. Karen-Leigh
