My friend Richard is hosting Happy Holidailies. The goal is to post daily on your blog from December 1st to January 1st. So for the next 32 days, I’m going to be making a short post on what the random prompt generator creates.
Prompt – If you could invent any holiday, what would it be?
I’ve thought about for a while. I’m creating werewolf and vampire cultures for my Jordan Abbey series. While I haven’t come up with anything for the vampires yet, I started noodling on something for the werewolves. Then someone beat me to it. Specifically, a 7-year-old child beat me to the idea.
Wolfenoot, in the creator’s mother’s words, focuses on canines and kindness. The sprit of wolves leaves presents to people who are kind to dogs. There is an origin story in a book you can purchase, plus suggestions on how to celebrate the holiday. The idea went viral at a time where kindness needed to be celebrated.
I’ll still come up with an idea for holidays for the vampires and the werewolves. But for now, I’m going to celebrate the 23rd with plenty of roast meat and cakes decorated like a full moon.
